AirTran Airlines has started to offer service in Charleston. The low cost airline is operating four flights a day between Charleston and Atlanta.Average roundtrip fares are around $181. In the past, the relatively high cost of flying into Charleston from Atlanta had deterred some from purchasing a primary or second home in the Charleston area if they planned on flying in and out of the Charleston area throughout the year. The arrival of AirTran to the Charleston market should remove this one barrier to enjoying all that Charleston has to offer. AirTran Web Site .
