Boulevard Diner

"Pretty, it ain't" would justly describe this restaurant which I have driven by for five years and not stepped foot through the door. Upon entering, it was exactly what I expected, and maybe even a little worse for the wear. An old diner look with no upgrades, ripped booth seats, cheap flatware, and just plain unattractive; the picture is almost enough to send you hind-tailing it out of there, but then you smell the food. Wow. And then you see the most delectable desserts sitting front and center, obviously kitchen cooked. Specials posted on a board with great pricing make you realize that you have not made a mistake after all, in fact, why didn't I come here before?

Sister restaurant to the Mustard Seed, Longpoint Cafe, and Settee IV, if a chef is missing, they can always pull from one of their other restaurants. I indulged in the shrimp and grits, one of their most popular meals, I am told. My friend Karen was pleased with her order of Tom Turkey with cranberries and all the other trimmings. Try it and tell me if you have the same experience. The coconut cake is divine.
