OFF-LEASH PARKS

Mt. Pleasant Palmetto Islands Park

What is the status of the dog park construction at Palmetto Islands, Wannamaker, and James Island County Parks? When completed by late summer 2007, all three parks will have the following: •a completely enclosed off-leash area (with entry and exit gates) •seating in the shaded areas •a few trees in the open area •bag stations and trash cans There are plans to install water (fountain for dogs and people) after the other elements are complete and the dog park is opened to the public.

Dog Park to Open Late on Sunday, June 17 The Off-Leash Area at James Island County Park will be closed until 10am on the following Sundays to host a local triathlon: June 17, July 8, July 29 and August 12.
