The City of Mt. Pleasant is thoughtfully planning the growth of its area. Fearful of growing too rapidly and without the proper infrastructure, a moratorium on building permits was put in place several years ago. In the meanwhile, the city services have grown to help meet the demand, and with the slow down in growth and turnover in real estate, getting permits to build your own home seems to no longer be a problem.
Along the lines of determining how Mt. Pleasant would grow, a plan was set in place for the major routes that crisscross Mt. Pleasant. One such plan includes the revitalization of Coleman Boulevard.
