Sewee Preserve is a 500-acre conservation development near Charleston, S.C., located within the Sewee to Santee corridor, which runs from just north of Mt. Pleasant to the Santee River Delta. (10 minutes from Mt. Pleasant Towne Center)
Ninety acres of the property are divided into just 30 home sites that run together alongside the salt marsh of Sewee Bay. The remaining land, more than 400 acres, is protected through a conservation easement held by Wetlands America Trust and will be owned by residents in common.
Home sites range from 1.5 to 3.75 acres in size, and lot prices begin in the mid $700,000's. Homes so far range in the two million dollar price bracket (9/07). Owners will choose their own builders and house plans in accordance with architectural design standards developed by the Sewee Preserve Architectural Review Board. Sewee Preserve has established guidelines for environmentally-sensitive home-building and lighting technologies and the use of indigenous plants for landscaping, all designed to better blend with the serenity and natural beauty of the property.
Each lot may include a smaller guesthouse and larger primary home, and all homes are to be owner-occupied (NO RENTALS HERE).
