The Somerby Retirement Resort, offering senior living In Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, is now open (2008). This community offers a variety of living options such as independent living in garden homes or condos, assisted care living in The Inn (apartment type housing), memory care housing in The Arbors, and short term respite care. Somerby offers planned activities, exercise and wellness programs, therapy services, scheduled transportation, full service restaurant-style fine dining, housekeeping, linen and laundry service, 24-7 security and on-duty nurse with an emergency response system. Amenities include a beauty salon/barber shop, movie theater, convenience store, billiards, card and game room, indoor heated aerobic exercise pool, fitness/exercise center, library/computer center, activity/social areas, walking paths with life trail exercise stations, and covered reserved parking.

A daily breakfast buffet and a choice of lunch or dinner is included in your monthly fee. All utilities are included in addition to scheduled transportation to area shopping and local medical appointments. Independent Living Residences start at $2,675 a month, Assisted Living at $4,075 a month and Memory Care at $5,000 a month. (11/2008 pricing) Monthly fees include all services and amenities.
