WATER SPORTS, HIKING, BIKING, & HUNTING IN CHARLESTON
South Carolina's sunny climate creates many days perfect for a hike, bike, hunt, or eighteen holes. The city is surrounded on all sides by championship golf courses, state and county parks, and national wildlife refuges. From public boat ramps, marinas, and private docks throughout the area, boaters go under sail and power for fishing, shrimping, racing, scuba diving, water skiing, surfing, sailing, and kayaking.

The City has created a special parking lot that cyclists and pedestrians can use to easily access the new Ravenel Bridge. It is located at the corner of Cooper And East Bay Streets. Just look for the green signs!
For the tourists, ecological kayak and boat tours, deep sea fishing charters, and biking and walking tours are all available.
The City of Charleston in a unique partnership with The Citadel (the State of SC), the Charleston RiverDogs (private enterprise also in affiliation with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays), play in the $19.5 million Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park on the banks of the scenic Ashley River. Friday night games in the summer months are followed by an impressive display of fireworks.
