Affordable Living Options for Home Owners in the Charleston Area

AFFORDABLE HOME OPTIONS

Sometimes it is just about living comfortably without the fuss. The following neighborhoods are interesting choices in the Charleston area that offer good quality living on an affordable scale:

Mira Vista is the affordable solution to condos living close to downtown Charleston. A small gated community of tasteful buildings with walkways throughout attracts people who want easy living close to the city. It's always nice to have a pool that is taken care of for you. Shelmore Village  A live-work community mostly built, building by demand to complete building out the project.

Schieveling Plantation in West Ashley resembles the romantic Rhett Butler scenes in the movies. Huge oaks populate this quaint neighborhood. CLICK ON PHOTO for more details of Schieveling Plantation.

The Villages in St. John's Woods offers country living in a city block setting. The trees remain a major focus with Charleston singles nestled among them. Clickfor more photos of The Villages.

Near Daniel Island, The Peninsula offers an affordable neighborhood for first-time homeowners and young families although retirees will also find this a welcoming place. CLICK ON PHOTO for more details of The Peninsula.

The Old Village in Mt. Pleasant is a combination of luxury old homes and smaller homes. The smaller homes are more affordable, but carry a higher price tag than other neighborhoods because of the old neighborhood established feel.

A small slice of homes sandwiched between I'On and Molasses Creek creates Braemore in Mt. Pleasant, without the HOA of I'On or the high price tag. Although there are no amenities in this community, there is the possibility to join elsewhere. CLICK ON PHOTO for more on the Braemore neighborhood.

Six-Fifty-Six is another live-work community that will spotlight Mt. Pleasant. Much like Shelmore Village, Six-Fifty-Six will appeal to those interested in convenience of living in the center of everything. CLICK  for more information on Six-Fifty-Six neighborhood.

Royal Palms are new condos located in Mt. Pleasant off 17 south near Hwy 41 turnoff. Phase II will have elevators. Prices starting around $300,000. Contact me for more information.

Want a home with your own island? Try St. Thomas Island next to Daniel Island. Centex is featuring a homesite called Shell Ring where you can find homes ranging from the $400,000s.

The Meridian near Mount Pleasant's Town Center complex, the Isle of Palms connecter and I-526, offers an affordable option in a convenient location only minutes from area beaches. Here one finds views overlooking woods and water, and amenities including tennis, basketball and fitness facilities. Ask for more details.

Schieveling Plantation offers single family homes in a quiet scenic neighborhood on the edge of West Ashley. Shelmore Villageis a live work community next to the Bi-Lo in Mt. Pleasant offering townhomes in a condo regime. Six-Fifty-Sixis another live-work community located in Mt. Pleasant, but just off Coleman Blvd. The Gatheringsare condominiums and a few townhomes located in West Ashley. The Peninsulais a community of single family homes centered around a pool area and small play park located between Mt. Pleasant and North Charleston off Clement Ferry Road. Villages of St. Johns Woodsare single family homes in a lovely community on Johns Island.
